Tulsi is also a US States Army Reserve officer who served as the US representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021. In 2012, she was elected as the first Hindu member of Congress and the first Samoan-American voting member of Congress.

Tulsi Gabbard Family: Who Are Her Parents?
Tulsi Gabbard came from a multicultural family and was born to parents Carol Gabbard and Mike Gabbar on April 12, 1981.
Tulsi was raised in Hawaii with her four siblings. She has both European and Samoan descent. Her mother was born in Indiana and grew up in Michigan. In contrast, her father was born in American Samoa and lived in Hawaii and Florida, coming from Samoan and European ancestry.
She was raised in part according to the teachings of the Science Of Identity Foundation and its spiritual leader, Chris Butler. She embraced the Hindu faith as a teenager, and also her siblings have Sanskrit first names.

Currently, Tulsi Gabbard is married to her husband, Abraham Williams.
Previously, Tulsi was married to Eduardo Tamayo in 2002. However, the relation couldn’t last long, and they divorced in 2006, citing “the stressed war places on military spouses and families” as their reason for a divorce.
In 2015, she tied the knot with freelance cinematographer and editor, Abraham who is the son of her Honolulu office manager in a traditional Vedic wedding ceremony wearing blue silk.
