Former US Chief Justice Robert Katzmann passed away due to his long illness of pancreatic cancer, leaving behind his wife and family. 

Robert Katzmann was the judge at the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York. 

His tenure for the chief justice was for 7 years from September 2013 to August 2020. 

Moreover, Robert was recently given a senior status on the federal bench when his 7 years long as chief justice ended.
