Mufti Taha Karaan Biography
Mufti Taha Karaan was an Islamic scholar and founder of Dar al-Ulum-al-Arabiyyah al-Islamiyyah in Strand.
He was an executive member of the Muslim Personal Law Board and Islamic Advisory Board of ABSA.
Moreover, Taha finished his Qur’anic memorization in one year at the Waterfall Islamic Institute. During his time in the institute, he contributed to the editing of the Qur’anic prints.
Likewise, he completed his ‘alim course in just two years and moved to the Indian sub-continent and Dar al-Ulum Deoband. There, he graduated with the highest of distinctions in 1991.

As of now, the cause of his death has not been confirmed yet. But, he was diagnosed with covid-19 at the end of May along with his family members.
