August Anthony Alsina Jr. is a New Orleans, Louisiana-based singer, rapper, and composer who was formerly signed to Def Jam Recordings.
In 2012, August released his first mixtape, The Product, and in 2013, he released his debut extended play (EP), Downtown: Life Under the Gun, on The-Radio Dream’s Killa Records and Def Jam Recordings.
Alsina was born in the city of New Orleans, where he went to middle school.
