The new position will take effect this week. Still,  Monica will have some brief segments of 5 On Your Side airing in the upcoming weeks, most likely through February.

So, who will take Laliberte’s place? WRAL reporter Keely Arthur will be taking the place of the veteran journalist. 

Monica spoke to the media after her position got changed, saying, “After nearly four decades in the local news, it’s time for a new challenge.”

“I am extremely thankful to the many who assisted me along the way,” she added.
