Lyra and Sara met through an online dating website Plenty of Fish according to The Guardian. They met on March 18, 2018, a day after St Paddy’s Day.
The couple had a very good relationship and they were high in love. In fact, it was later revealed Lyra was planning on purposing Sara and had already bought a wedding ring at the time she died.

Lyra McKee Family Explored
Lyra McKee’s family is constantly fighting and appealing for justice for Lyra’s death.
Her mother passed away back in 2020, according to BBC, she could not bear the loss of her child and died heartbrokenly.
However, information about her father and mother including their names has not come to the surface yet.
Other family members have also not come to the spotlight yet but they seem to be trying their best to get Lyra’s murderer behind the bars.
She was survived by her two brothers, three sisters, and mother. Names of her siblings have not come to the surface yet.

Lyra McKee Murder Case Update
Lyra McKee was shot on April 18, 2019, while covering a riot in the Creggan area of Derry, Northern Ireland.
When the riot started getting violent, masked gunmen open fire towards the police and fired twelve shots.
McKee, who was standing near an armored police vehicle was shot in her head and taken to Altnagelvin Area Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The officials blame dissident republicans for her death according to BBC.

Are The Lyra McKee Killer Arrested?
Police have recently arrested four men in connection to Lyra McKee’s murder.
They are being questioned as you read this article by the authorities in an attempt to find the killer.
Authorities had also arrested two men aged 18 and 19 on the same day of the incident but they were released the next day without any charges.
As of now, Lyra McKee’s killer has not been identified and charged with the crime.
