Why Did Bobby Vaughn Get Fired From Von Dutch Company? Murder Charges Explained
Bobby Vaughn’s life turned upside down after he was involved in a murder case in 2005 which also got him fired from the Von Dutch company.
According to Bustle, Vaughn and his friend Mark Rivas got into a drunken fight during which Mr. Rivas attacked him with a broken beer bottle.
As a result, the fight escalated and Vaughn ended up shooting Rivas, who was also his best friend and roommate. The fatal shot killed Rivas on the spot.
Vaughn called 911 and turned himself in but claimed it was an act of self-defense. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The judge, however, acquitted him of the charges as the jury ruled it justifiable homicide.
By that point, he lost his stake in the Von Dutch company. He was then fired by Tonny Sorensen, a Danish investor who stepped in as the CEO when the company was in need of funding.
